On 24 November 2025, research from the INTEGRATE consortium was featured in the C2W Special ICMS Edition 2025, one of the flagship publications of the Institute for Complex Molecular Systems (ICMS) at Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e). The magazine highlighted striking SEM images of in-house electrospun nanofibers under the title “Festive Fiber,” showcasing the visual richness and structural precision of these tailor-made materials.

Beyond their aesthetic appeal, these nanofibers illustrate the scientific and application-driven potential of electrospun architectures for advanced biomedical uses. By systematically tuning electrospinning parameters, the TU/e team engineered distinctive PMMA-based fiber morphologies that are expected to play an important role as carriers for drugs and biomolecules in future therapeutic systems. This line of work aligns closely with INTEGRATE’s ambition to bridge materials science, process innovation and biointegrated technologies, laying the groundwork for next-generation soft actuators and biomedical interfaces powered by metabolic energy.
